I love the little stare down between Mifune and Kyojiro in the Sayo Route Ending, when you accept Honzaemon's bribe. She just kinda awkwardly stares at the main character, he stares back and then they just part ways

In my play through of this ending I fought the gang inside of Honzaemon's bedroom for some reason. The man himself got stuck in the bed, Nami was just sitting on it like a corpse and when I killed them my cutscene bugged out. Honzaemon died like usual, but Nami just never appeared and I literally didn't understand why or what even is "soma" and the importance of Sayo knowing it P.S. Kyojiro literally never appeared in my play through except cor the festival fight

Is it just me, or one of the playable character faces is supposed to be adult Sayo? It's the fifth unlockable face with a unique pink outfit. She LITERALLY has the same hairstyle as Sayo. She's also featured in the intro, running across rooftops and fighting the Aoto gang lady. And if she's just supposed to be a random playable female ninja it's kinda funny how she bares closer resemblance to Sayo, compared to the WotS4 Sayo model

I still find myself drawn to this game over 10 years later from time to time. It was so fun to play, and I must have put hundreds of hours into it.

This game deserves so much more love and a high budget sequel

this dude, I swear to God, took me hours to beat until I realized that each medicine reduced his life. Kasshin-Iai jutsu seems to work well against him, since the 'Look away' counter move deals insane damage + can deal with that bullshit one hit kill combo of his.

i think the reason it forces you to lock onto one foe at a time is gameplay reasons. In some ways, multiple opponents attacking at once can make the game seem unfair. A novice or casual player may be forced to back off constantly if say... the Alto Three decided to lean into their "I don't care about honor" mentality in gameplay, and instantly broke the 1v1 rule before you even knew it existed to attack you at the same time. Many new players may not know what to do upon trying to help Sayo and either have to play chicken, flee until the Magistrates intervene, or reset and leave Sayo to their mercy. But on the other hand, it may quickly spiral into a player-biased situation too. The enemy AI has no concern about friendly fire incidents and will gladly cut through each other in a attempt to attack you. So much so that I have once seen a magistrate in the final battle of Ending 1 kill his own friend trying to swing his katana like it's a baseball bat. And then you have cases where the player happens to have a particularly large weapon like Zannkimaru. They'd be able to easily make short work of multi-enemy fights simply by cleaving through enemies with the huge reach if they didn't back off for the 1v1 combat. And considering child me used to make it a funny past time to, when I was bored, harass a thug by bumping into him repeatedly until he got mad, then bait him into slashing a magistrate's back, then manipulate the thug into walking himself and the magistrate into the open so a riot can break out, bonus points if a major character like Danpachi or the Alto Three got involved in the riot... i have no doubts that players would have used that to cheese many fights until they devolved into a free for all while Mifune ate a rice ball in the corner with a giant smirk on his face.

I fear that any longer and it will be too late to revive the series and the original staff that created it as well as Noriyuki Asakura the composer and godfather of modern Samurai music may pass away or not be able to work on it. Please Acquire! Make at least 1 more installment and take the best and unique parts from every game before it to deliver a true masterpiece! 🎉
